General information

Preliminary titles should be submitted as soon as possible. Please indicate your preference for an oral or a poster presentation, and provide a topic keyword. In case of an oral presentation, also indicate the special theme S1-S10 (cf. scientific program) of your preference.

Guidelines for submission of abstracts

  1. Authors presenting abstracts must be registered participants.
  2. Abstracts of the papers must be submitted in English by February 28st, 2014. Authors will be notified of acceptance by March 15th, 2014.
  3. Abstracts should not exceed 500 words (or 1 page incl. figures and references), and submission in MS Word via E-mail is strongly encouraged.
    An MS Word template can be downloaded below.
  4. The font size should be 11 point and Arial should be used.
  5. The title should be typed in bold and IN CAPITALS and should contain no more than 100 characters, including spaces.
  6. Give the author(s) names, initials, institution, email and address. Omit titles and qualifications.
  7. The name of the presenting author should be underlined.
  8. Single space all typing. Do not leave blank lines. Use standard abbreviations. Place a special or unusual abbreviation in parenthesis after the full word the first time it appears.
  9. The abstract should state clearly the purpose, methods, results and conclusions of the study. Phrases such as ´the results will be presented and discussed´ will not be accepted.
  10. If references are used they should include authors, title, journal, year, volume, pages.
  11. If figures are included they should be of high contrast to allow photocopy reproduction.
